Opportunities and challenges for the global agriculture and food sector were explored during two days in Paris at the OECD, from 7-8 April 2016 by 46 countries representatives. South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States, France, Canada Viet Nam were among these countries. They placed a high priority on developing policies to underpin competitive, sustainable, productive and resilient farm and food businesses, according to a final declaration, published today . Integrated policy approaches that will better enable farmers to improve productivity are needed, they emphasize. For these participants, policy approaches can simultaneously increase competitivenesss, profitability, and can contribute to global food security.
