Born at the One Planet Summit in December 2017, implemented by the African Women in Agriculture and Development ( AWARD) and the Agropolis Foundation (Science Support Foundation), the One Planet Fellowship is funded to the tune of 19,$2 million from the Bill and Mellinda Gates Foundation, the European Union, the Canadian Centre for International Development Research (IDRC) and the BNP Paribas Foundation. It is a six-month capacity building programme for African researchers in European universities.
