The 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival opened its door yesterday and continues until May 27. The Cannes Film Festival is an opportunity for directors and producers from around the world to showcase their short and feature films, through two weeks of promotion and worldwide distribution of their productions. Actors, filmmakers, models, singers and other celebrities gather in Cannes to celebrate the seventh art. The novelty for two years is the presence of the ECOPROD prize, coming from the association with the same name. Ecoprod is an association working to reduce the environmental impact of film and audiovisual productions since their preparation.

11 films selected this year

11 films have been selected for this ECOPROD 2023 award. A dozen production companies sent the association a dossier detailing the eco-responsible approach of their films presented in Cannes, all selections combined. The jury consists of actress and director Audrey Dana, environmental activist Camille Etienne, eco-responsible stage manager Alexis Giraudeau, producer Barbara Letellier and actor Jérémie Rénier.

“I wanted to be part of the Ecoprod Prize jury to highlight the part of the world of cinema that is starting to be part of the solution and not the problem.” explains Camille Etienne.

The award ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 21, 2022 at 12 pm on the stand of the Commission Supérieure Technique de l’Image et du Son in the presence of the jury, the winners and many members of Ecoprod.
