Agenda 2063 Song was created by a group of singers from Zimbabwe and played during the AU Summit held on 30th January 2016, Addis Ababa, in  Ethiopia.

The song starts with a speech of President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe, chairman at that time of the African Union. He reminds Africa to work for implementation of Agenda 2063, emphasizing the need of industrialization in the continent.

The song bears Africa aspirations to reach Agenda 2063 with this refrain:

“ I choose peace. You choose Unity, He or she chooses prosperity. Because we are Africans, one people, one nation, one voice. We are Africans.”

Agenda 2063 is a “global strategy to optimize use of Africa’s resources for the benefits of all Africans » recalls the website of the African Union ( AU). It aims   to encourage discussion among all stakeholders, “Agenda 2063” is an approach to how the continent should effectively learn from the lessons of the past, build on the progress now underway and strategically exploit all possible opportunities available in the short, medium and long term, so as to ensure positive socioeconomic transformation within the next 50 years, explains the AU website.
